Every integration in WISPGate is more than just a connection — it's an ongoing engineering commitment.
Behind every integration, our team handles:
- API learning and architecture alignment
- Edge cases and real-world scenario handling
- Testing and validation across environments
- Long-term maintenance and version updates
- Future bug handling and API changes
- Ongoing support load and system impact
- Engineering opportunity cost
This means integrations are not one-time tasks; they are long-term liabilities that directly impact platform stability and performance. To ensure fairness, scalability, and product quality, we classify every integration into one of three categories.
Product Layer
1. Core Integrations
These are essential integrations that serve the majority of WISPGate customers and strengthen the platform globally.
Examples:
Payment Gateways
SMS Gateways
How it works:
Built and maintained by WISPGate
Fully funded by us
Included across all subscriptions
These integrations are part of our core product roadmap and are continuously improved for all users.
Shared Investment
2. Sponsored Integrations
Some integrations are valuable but not immediately prioritized for the global roadmap. In these cases, we offer a co-funding model to accelerate development.
Examples:
Financial Platforms (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage, Xero)
Network & Monitoring Tools (e.g. Zabbix, PRTG Network Monitor, Cambium cnMaestro)
How it works:
Development cost is shared
Customer contributes partially (not full cost)
WISPGate co-invests and absorbs the remaining cost
"This is a co-funded feature that becomes part of WISPGate."
Typical pricing:
Real cost: $2,000 – $3,000
Customer contribution: $500 – $1,200 (based on scope and man-hours)
Remaining cost covered by WISPGate
Client-Owned
3. Private / Custom Integrations
When an integration is highly specific to a single business or use case, it is treated as a private implementation.
Examples:
Local bank APIs
Custom ERP systems
Region-specific or uncommon SMS gateways
How it works:
Fully funded by the requesting customer
Not added to the core WISPGate product
Maintained within the customer's scope
Typical pricing:
$300 – $3,000 (depending on complexity and man-hours)
How We Decide
Every integration request is reviewed by our technical and development teams. We assess:
- Product impact
- Reusability across customers
- Engineering complexity
- Long-term maintenance cost
Based on this, we classify the integration as Core, Sponsored, or Private, ensuring a consistent and scalable approach.
